Welcome to Aaliyah Archives, a fan-site dedicated to the life, legacy and memory of the late, great Aaliyah Dana Haughton A.K.A– "The highest, most exalted one, the best". A place for both the Young Nation and our much older Down With The Clique fans, to come together in solidarity to share their love and support for a woman who inspired us all. We post daily updates that are anything and everything to do with Aaliyah, as well as her affiliates. From live performances, interviews and behind the scenes we have an array of historic archives to explore in our media gallery, as well as the latest official news updates and events taking place across the globe. Our sole purpose is to keep her kindred, One In A Million spirit alive and thriving for generations to come...

Established in 2013, Aaliyah Archive’s journey began with a die-hard fan from the UK with love and admiration for an amazingly talented singer, model, and actress at the tender age of eleven years old. As she got older, personal issues beyond her control and the unfortunate loss of her Grandmother led to a downward spiral, that only a positive motivating force could heal and grieve. What started out as a catharsis of blogging and expression through the written word, soon became a passion that blew up to what it is known today…Aaliyah Archives…

The name chosen for this fan page reflected very deeply on the fact that we were looking back into the past of someone who is no longer with us. We wanted to fuse her name with something that was relevant to what and who Aaliyah was about, and ultimately what our goals are to help maintain and keep her legacy alive. As most fans know, Aaliyah was very much into Egyptology, so it was fitting that we used the Egyptian Ankh symbol (A tattoo she had on her inner, right wrist) which symbolises LIFE. We wanted that symbol to convey the 22 years of life that she had on this Earth, as well as her dedication to her craft, where she Came To Give Love to her fans across the world.

The first time I saw Aaliyah was on TV dancing away in her Try Again music video. From that moment I instantly knew that this woman was different amongst all of her other musical peers. Everything from Aaliyah's sound — style, voice, and dance moves made me instantly want to know more about her as an individual. As the love kept growing more and more, I started digging into the archives of Aaliyah's albums, interviews, magazines, videos, books etc...to further expand my knowledge, and get into more of her music through other artists such as Playa (R.I.P to Static Major who wrote a lot of Aaliyah's lyrics).

The more I read and learnt, the more I felt captivated, and I truly resonated with Aaliyah's views and personality. It was an amazing experience to discover her artistry throughout the years whilst growing up during an era when I remember Aaliyah being alive, and thriving in all aspects of her career. To this very day her presence is deeply missed worldwide. No one can deny her influence on both the R&B and Hip-Hop culture. She was the blue-print for a lot of artists of today's generation. May we never forget her influential impact, and the years of longevity she created through her timeless classics.

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same…”

With Aaliyah in ours hearts 🕊

Peace, Love and Light...
