It's been 22 years since our beloved angel passed away on August 25th 2001. No amount of words can convey how much this woman was truly adored and treasured all over. I always knew the day would come where the anniversary marker would match the very same age that Aaliyah transcended into the heavenly realms. Something which a lot of Selena fans will be all too familar with. It's a strange feeling as we grow older, seeing the years pass us by, not wondering where the time flies by. Today has been a pretty tough one overall, knowing that today would of also been my Father's 72nd birthday, it's one day I cannot stomach and hurts me to the core in ways that no one would truly every know or would care to even understand. The shear strenghth, resiliance, determination and passion takes a lot for someone to be able to endure when that pain hits you deep to the core. 💔
On a lighter note, I thank God everyday for blessing me and giving me the strength to keep holding on and staying strong throughout. For the /.\ familia, my fam, my friends you know I couldn't let this day pass by without sharing a rare photo, so this one is for you. Here's to celebrating the 22 years of life Aaliyah gave to us through her art, music, dance, fashion and everything that she embodied.
