Aaliyah: Rare Photos Courtesy Of George Lange

By Sandy

Here are some beautiful, rare outtakes from photographer George Lange. This particular photoshoot was taken in 1999 for Teen People Magazine, which you can check out via our gallery section here. A huge shoutout to our little sis @aaliyahhaughton who found these beautiful, rare gems. Thank you for sharing and tagging us! I cannot believe we missed these! 🤣

UPDATE

To add, George Lange posted the full version of the third pic above via his instagram page, which we have just uploaded to the image gallery. He also gave a background story behind this shoot which you can read below. We thought this was very interesting! Enjoy!

"I didn't know anything about Aaliyah - but there she was at a shooting I was doing with Justin Timberlake for Teen People in NYC. Like so many of my shootings, one or maybe two images have seen the light of day and rest have had a long slumber in storage. This past year I have been working on a project with my neighbors @dailybreadpa in Pittsburgh.

Talking with Sean one day, Aaliyah's name came up and Sean just went crazy. He is obsessed. I pulled the color transparencies from storage and we held them up against the window to edit. Sean picked three images and did a design for hoodies that are now available at Daily Bread. While most of my focus is looking ahead to the next shoot, I know I am sitting on a lot of secrets. Thanks to everyone at Daily Bread for helping me dig into the vault." – George Lange

Once again we thank photographer George Lange for his sincere generosity and kindess in sharing these beautiful, never before seen images.
